300,000 Queensland kids set to be more active through FairPlay

07 Jan 2025

Around 300,000 children will have the opportunity to get involved in organised sport and active recreation, thanks to the Queensland Government’s FairPlay program.

The program is designed to help address cost-of-living by contributing towards the cost of sport and active recreation membership, registration and participation fees for Queensland kids.

Every Queensland child between the ages of five and 17 have been eligible to apply for the vouchers worth up to $200 each.

The current round of FairPlay saw an expansion of the number of vouchers on offer and the take-up has been hugely successful.

The program has been so popular, the number of vouchers available to Medicare Card holders participants has now been exhausted.

There are still vouchers available for those holding a Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card.

More than 127,000 vouchers have already been redeemed, and many of these kids may not have had the opportunity to get involved in organised sport without FairPlay.

Voucher holders have until 6 June 2025 to present their voucher to activity providers and take advantage of the program to help their kids get on the field or on the court and be more active.
