Olympic and Paralympic Games Office

We are leading the coordination of responsibilities to facilitate delivery of a world-class Olympic and Paralympic Games that leaves a positive and enduring legacy.

The Olympic and Paralympic Games Office:
  • coordinates and integrates planning and delivery responsibilities for the 2032 Games
  • drives legacy outcomes, including through implementation of Elevate 2042, the 2032 Games legacy strategy
  • supports the State as an Olympic Host Contract signatory and the administration of the Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games Arrangements Act 2021
  • facilitates cross-partner governance arrangements to ensure effective and efficient oversight and decision-making.

Games Coordination and Governance

Games Governance Arrangements:

Governance for the Games differs from traditional governance within a single organisation, as it spans multiple entities and must uphold the decision-making rights of each entity. It must effectively support engagement, coordination and decision making among the diverse Games entities involved in planning and delivery, including the three levels of government, the Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee and the Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority.
