Providence Athletics unveils upgraded facilities

18 Dec 2025

Providence Athletics has officially opened its upgraded athletics facilities, expanding opportunities for local athletes and the wider community.

The project, delivered in partnership with Ripley Valley State Secondary College, features a new tartan training area, javelin runway, high- and long-jump pits, three throw circles, a discus/hammer cage, and a dedicated equipment shed and technical area.

Together, these new additions provide enhanced training capacity and greater pathways for participation across multiple track and field disciplines.

The upgrade was proudly supported through the Queensland Government’s Minor Infrastructure and Inclusive Facilities Fund (MIIFF), which assists clubs and community organisations to deliver safe, inclusive and high-quality sport and recreation spaces.

Providence Athletics says the new facilities will help cater to growing participation and strengthen connections between the club, the school and the broader community.
