Our legacy

The 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games will deliver benefits that extend well beyond the competition venues. The impacts will be realised across Brisbane, Queensland, Australia and the wider Oceania region.

The Games represent a once-in-a-generation opportunity to:

• grow a stronger economy and attract visitors from across the world
• promote resource security and conserve our pristine environment
• strengthen connectivity by building the roads and infrastructure needed for a growing population
• enhance health and wellbeing for all, including through sport participation.

The Games Legacy Strategy is the shared 20-year vision for a lasting Games legacy, developed through contributions from thousands of people representing diverse backgrounds.

What is the Legacy Strategy?

The 2032 Games Legacy Strategy is a commitment from all Games Delivery Partners to ensure the Games drive meaningful, long-term benefits.

This strategy keeps our focus on creating positive change in four key areas:

• health and wellbeing
• connectivity
• environment
• economy.

Next steps

Recognising that current priorities may shift and new challenges or opportunities may arise, the next stage focuses on progressing the vision through comprehensive implementation planning, ensuring the effective delivery of legacy initiatives.
