Queensland Scouts and Girl Guides to receive a funding boost
Queensland Scouts and Girl Guides are set to benefit from a significant funding boost, with our commitment of more than $1.7 million to upgrade infrastructure and facilities across the state.
The funding will support six Scout Groups, three Girl Guides Units, and a Scout Camp, ensuring these organisations can continue to provide safe, functional, and accessible spaces for young people to learn, grow, and thrive.
Projects include:
a kitchen refurbishment at the Mount Gravatt Girl Guides Hall
infrastructure upgrades for Moggill Girl Guides and Kenmore District Girl Guides
accessibility improvements at the Aspley Scout Den
hall upgrades for Helensvale and Dayboro Scouts
refurbishments for Moggill, Karana, and Kenmore Scouts
new machinery for Seeonee Park Scout Camp in Rockhampton.
By upgrading these facilities, the funding will not only benefit current Scouts and Guides but also inspire future generations to join these iconic organisations.
The Scouts and Girl Guides play a vital role in giving the next generation of young Queenslanders more opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, try new sports, and develop a lifelong love of physical activity.
We are committed to strengthening grassroots organisations and enhancing community engagement. This latest funding allocation highlights the government’s recognition of the lasting impact Scouts and Girl Guides have on Queensland communities, with their programs helping to shape confident and capable individuals.
With these upgrades, Queensland’s Scouts and Girl Guides are better equipped to continue their legacy of inspiring young people, fostering community involvement, and promoting an active lifestyle.
