Play On! Learn to Swim vouchers open for applications
More young Queenslanders will be able to start their swimming journey early with the opening of the new Play On! Learn to Swim voucher program.
Up to $150 will be available to eligible Queensland families to help with the cost of swimming lessons for children aged 0-4.
Eligible families will need a Health Care or Concession Card or have been referred by a registered Play On! Learn to Swim referral agent.
The vouchers will reduce the cost of swimming lessons for families who can least afford them, while giving more young Queenslanders an early start in the pool so they can build confidence and develop important water safety skills.
Last financial year saw more than 7,500 vouchers redeemed to help young Queenslanders learn to swim – 40 per cent of them were in regional Queensland.
Applications open on Tuesday 27 October – to check your eligibility, or to register as a Play On! Learn to Swim activity provider, please visit: www.qld.gov.au/recreation/sports/funding/learntoswim
The program is an important component of Queensland Spirit: The Road to 2032, a strategy designed to deliver a sporting legacy for Queensland and help more Queenslanders be active, regardless of their age, ability or circumstances.
